A Letter from the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation

The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is not your ordinary veteran’s charity. We are made up of thousands of Marines, Marine veterans and volunteers who, each year, collect and distribute toys, books and other gifts to less fortunate children in the communities in which we live and work. This is one of the best ways for the Marine Corps to give back to the communities from where our Marines and veterans have come. Toys for Tots is in its 66th year of providing happiness and hope to our nation’s neediest children; children who might otherwise be overlooked during the Christmas holiday season. Our gifts offer these children recognition, confidence and a positive memory that will last them for a lifetime. It is such experiences that may motivate them to become responsible and caring members of their community.
During the one season a child would rather be remembered with a gift than anything else in the world, we believe Toys for Tots makes a genuine contribution in over 745 communities nationwide. Many of the gifts we provide, such as books, games and sports equipment, make a significant contribution to the educational, as well as social and recreational interests, of these children. The program is also of immense assistance to parents who, during the holiday season, are unable to provide needed gifts for their children. Last year the Marine Corps fulfilled the holiday hopes and dreams of 6.7 million less fortunate children. While that may be a lot of children, we unfortunately ran out of gifts long before we ran out of children. Funds from your donated vehicle will enable us to reach more children this Christmas.
Thank you,
